Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in messaging threat protection for communication service providers, today announced that Research Analyst Andrew Conway will facilitate a discussion on mobile threats and Android-related security concerns at the RSA Conference USA 2014. The conference, which will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif., from Feb. 24-27, gathers security industry leaders from around the world to explore information security’s most important issues.
Who: Andrew Conway, research analyst, Cloudmark
What: Session: “Android in the Enterprise and the Future of Mobile Threats”
Where: RSA Conference USA 2014, Moscone Center, West, Room 2017
When: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, 2:40-3:40 p.m.
Android is making significant inroads into the enterprise. Android recently broke the 80 percent global market share mark, according to IDC. However, Android’s open architecture has created some concerns for security professionals. According to some reports, Android is responsible for 79 percent of mobile malware. During this interactive Peer2Peer session, Conway will facilitate a discussion examining the adoption of Android in the enterprise and the evolution of mobile threats.
“Mobile cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated as they look for new ways to defraud mobile users and steal personal and financial information,” said Conway. “In the past year, the number of geo-targeted SMS spam campaigns has increased and spammers are targeting bank accounts via mobile malware and SMS phishing in greater numbers. I look forward to an active dialogue with attendees as they share their insights on mobile threats and hear first-hand about new and emerging threats.”
